UCLA Neurosurgeon, Neil Martin, MD, discusses new treatments for cavernous angioma — a blood vessel abnormality in the brain and spine that can cause a seizure, hemorrhage, or stroke. Dr. Martin, chairman of the UCLA Neurosurgery Department and co-director of the UCLA Stroke Center, will introduce new minimally invasive procedures, surgical removal techniques and the latest clinical trial treatments developed at UCLA for the prevention of stroke.

February 28, 2012 has been proclaimed by the Township of Wainfleet as Cavernous Angioma Awareness Day. Cavernous Angioma is a disease characterized by malformations in the capillaries mainly in the brain and spinal cord.
